Noble Works: Visual Novel Review

Cena2
Flipped a coin between this and “Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort”, and this won. I’ll talk about the other one some other time, since I have a bit to bitch about.

Shortest summary: You look like a rich kid; Rich kid is sick; You fill in for rich kid until he gets better. Oh no, you fall for someone while filling in as rich kid.

Noble Works is basically a moege, a very well polished moege that still suffers on what a moege entails. This is, as long as it’s cute, the story isn’t all that important.
The main issue of the novel is how the dilemmas are handled. They’re basically nonexistent as they kind of end after five minutes or so. Thus, the rising action is just gone. It just floats along for most of the ride. Fortunately, there was an exception to this, and it’s also the route I regard the highest in this novel.

Now, while I did just pretty much bash it, it’s also what it is. It’s a moege, if you like the more genre, you will like this novel. It’s great for a moe game, all the characters are enjoyable whilst being annoying at times. It’s also quite funny from time to time, especially with Hinata. The visuals are top notch, though having more cg would’ve been nice.

My favorite character is Hinata(and Chiaka), though I believe most people’s favorite would be Maya.
My favorite route would be Shizuru. She can be seen as the annoying one, and she is for awhile. However, her route is one of the longer ones as the issue of the MC being in disguise is actually fully well explored in this route. Thus, you naturally get more attached to this particular route over the others.

There’s really no reading order to this.
I went with Akari, Sena, Hinata, Shizuru, Maya.
In terms of ranks, Shizuru->Hinata->Maya/Akari->Sena

In short, expect to have a fun reading it. However, don’t expect it to be brilliant or thought provoking, it’s still a moege. The bonus route is bullshit though, can’t talk your way out of it.
